Sensus are a four-piece indie rock band hailing from the outskirts of London. It is always a difficult task to describe to kind of music we play. We all have bands whose music we love. The difference with us is, we know those bands already do what they do the best. We are not clones. The one goal we set ourselves when we started this thing back in July 2001 was to make music that represents us. By August we had our line up, Darren Langshaw (bass), Pete Sinanan (drums), Barrie Jarman (lead guitar) and Steve Rickard (guitar/vox) and it was time to work. To help focus the mind, we had booked our first gig at the Collective Music Venue in Wigan for 1st September. In November 2001 we cut our debut CD. 'Inertia' represents the first five Sensus songs. Recorded at an undisclosed basement in Slough, it really captures the essence of the band live. You can get a free copy at any of our gigs or from our web site (www.sensusband.co.uk). As well as sending the CD out to venues, it has also been circulating around fanzines and the music industry. So far we have been getting many positive reviews and interest from labels and producers. This included world-class U.S. producer Ronan Chris Murphy, who came over to England in January 2003 to record our second EP 'Only Forward' and promote us at MIDEM and to his record company contacts. What lies ahead we don't know. But it will involve as many gigs as we can get, writing new songs and continuing to work hard. We believe in what we do. If you like your music a little bit different and played with energy, passion and conviction, then Sensus are the band for you. |

Below are a few of the comments from the reviews section of our website that people have said about Sensus: "What
you can expect is intelligent, melodic rock songs with plenty of juicy
hooks. the quality of the songs is evident as soon as the drums thunder
in on opening track 'Synthetic'. their potential is obvious." ".these
guys rock good. Smooth and sophisticated, yet powerful, the band make
the most of their musicianship and quality songs. this oufit should have
wide appeal - a great act."
 ".
it's more difficult to put your finger on who a band reminds you of. The
music is intense and muscular. The whole EP is a valiant effort."
