LIXX
was formed in 1997 when the two founding members, Ryan Ziegler and Jason
Sabbe met. Both wanted to start a band that took elements from the past
and combined them togther to create a new sound. Various musicians auditioned
for the remaining spots in the band. Ryan came up with the name LIXX while
trying to think up a name that was original and stood to represent the
bands vast influences of past and present.
LIXX played for a short time as a 3 piece including various parties and
local venues. LIXX added bass player Cam Styles and Jason ("Jr")
Mutchmann to the line up in late 1998 and recorded their EP "Times
Two" in the spring of 1999. The EP featured the song "Times
End" which met with some success on the MP3.com charts. Due to various
issues, both Styles and Mutchmann left the band in 2000 to persue other
interests. LIXX again auditioned various musicians for the vacant spots.
The current line up with Chris McNaughton on bass and Curt Paschke on
guitar was quickly established. The two had previously played in a high
school band with long time friend Sabbe. LIXX is currently playing shows
throughout western canada and plans on entering the studio to record their
deput full length release in the very near future
