HISTORY

With the release of his first solo CD, "Leap Of Faith", in 1999, John Taglieri announced to the world that there was a new face on the rock music scene and he was here to make some noise. This 33 year old multi-instrumentalist singer / songwriter put together an album reminiscent of powerful 80's rock, but with a flair worthy of the new millennium. The 12-song effort has solidly placed Taglieri among the best of the best in the Melodic Rock genre, and it seems the future holds only good things for him.

Picking up a guitar at age five was the first step for John Taglieri, and he hasn't looked back since. He has been playing and recording music professionally since the age of 15. He has released independent albums with past groups, toured on local, regional, and national levels, and received airplay from many local radio stations. Music is a way of life to him. With a degree in Audio Engineering from The Center for the Media Arts in New York City, and many recordings under his belt, he is well aware and very capable of what it takes to perform in the studio.

With well over 1000 performing dates, he knows what it takes to put on a show. He has shared bills with some of the most famous players out there and has played some of the best venues in his home area. He has been a lead guitar player, lead vocalist/frontman, drummer, percussionist, bassist and keyboard player. His vocal talent has been used in every project he has ever been involved in, be it as a lead or background vocalist. His ability to play many instruments has insured that he has kept busy at all times. He has also been involved in many recordings in his home area, working occasionally as a studio musician.

Taking a year to record, Leap Of Faith was a true labor of love for Taglieri. With the exception of keyboards, John played all the instruments himself. It was a painstaking task, as each instrument had to be played one at a time, track by track. It was his true leap of faith as a musician to see if he had what it took to be a pro. The Title track, aptly named, has carved a name for itself with powerful lyrics, soaring lead vocals and harmonies, and killer guitar work. It has been dubbed one of the best rock songs of the last 10 years by some reviewers, with it's positive lyrics striking a chord that rock has looked for since the grunge revolution took over. The diverse blend of songs on the CD have made John's sound accessible to many people, from many genres. "Can't You See" is a stirring ballad that has melted the hearts of all who have heard it was dubbed "The #3 Ballad of the Year" by various websites. "Hold Me Close Tonight", a powerful upbeat rocker, was chosen by many to be one of the Top 10 Independent songs of 1999. Other songs, like "Shangri-La" are said to be reminiscent of a time when rock-n-roll music had substance and meaning, with solid musicianship and great harmonies.

From children to 30 something's, no one has been able to ignore the quality of the writing on the CD. With one "Male Pop CD of the Year" win already on Kweevaks Tracks website and a nomination by the JPF Organization for "Rock Album Of The Year", there seems to be no slowdown to the tremendous momentum. Since the release of the current CD, things have only gotten better. Critics have fallen for the CD with numerous positive reviews. On the strength of an ever-growing press kit, and with his name becoming a regular among the press, John was asked to do numerous feature interviews. He was also featured on the cover of several European Rock Magazines. This led to solid sales of almost 4,500 units as an independent artist. While sales were still climbing and momentum was still growing, a 23-city tour was booked that took John through 5 states, culminating at the Ultrasound 2000 Festival in Las Vegas. Landing a sponsor for the tour in NoWhereRadio.com, John's shows were broadcast to a worldwide audience over the Internet. Boosting CD sales, and gaining many fans and notoriety during the tour, John attracted the attention of A2 Records and Ovation Guitars. Not long after the tour, John was signed to a record deal with A2 Records and a sponsorship/endorsement deal with Ovation Guitars. He has also signed an endorsement deal with ING Strings.

He is also currently a member of JPF, ASCAP and NARAS. In less then a year, John had achieved a record deal, Worldwide Release of his CD, major sponsors, endorsements, magazine features, numerous articles and interviews. There seems to be no stopping this rising artist. The album, "Leap Of Faith" has and continues to establish itself as an album not to be overlooked and also one that continues to gain more and more popularity. It has charted in the Top 20 on the European Melodic Rock charts. It has seen singles reach as high as # 5 on various Internet charts. It has repeatedly sold out of locations carrying the CD and has seen a very successful US release. On the heels of the momentum that the success of Leap Of Faith created, John has now signed a 3-album record deal with Europe's Now & Then Records. The largest melodic rock label in Europe, Now & Then is home to the genres biggest and best stars. This raises Taglieri's profile even higher and leaves him poised to make that next big step up the ladder. With a new label and direction, and a new CD set to release in early 2002, great things are expected.

What does the future hold for John Taglieri?? Only time will tell, but so far, thing are going in one direction: upwards!
