Eric began as a band in 2001. Simon (Vocals / Guitars) and Steve (Drums), wanted to start the band as soon as possible. Simon asked ex-band mate Matt (Bass) to join, and before you could say "well fan my arse with a feather", the rhythm section was complete.

The next step was to search for an elusive guitarist. On replying to an advert in a quartermasters stores for a 'HIT MAN FOR HIRE--NO KILL, NO FEE' Ade (Lead Guitarist and dodgy looking guy) then became part of the line-up.

In December 2002 bravely deciding to take the band forward Eric recorded a
6-track all original CD at a local recording studio in Newport South Wales. The band received positive feedback from this recording and as a result played numerous venues across the South Wales area which included, The Riverside Tavern, Le Pub and the Newport City Live Arena (NCLA) in Newport and The Barfly and Sam's Bar in Cardiff. The band has also played several festivals and many other venues in the South Wales Valleys.

In November 2003 the band recoded the 4 track E.P. 'This is Bliss' - which was!, using Transpose Studios in Newport again for the production. The bands website www.ericband.co.uk was launched in January 2004 as a means to keep interested parties informed of gig dates, releases etc. and is regularly updated by a gorgeous, sexy secretary who we wish existed.
